PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically prevent a screen from flickering, even when connecting an electronic endoscope to a stroboscopic light source.SOLUTION: A processor 12 for being used with an electronic scope 11 detachably attached to the processor 12 comprises: a light source unit 19; and a light guide connector 21 in which a switch 22 is provided, where the switch 22 is made to be in the ON state when a light guide of the electronic scope is connected to the light guide connector 21 and to be in the OFF state when not being connected to the light guide connector 21. When the light guide 23 of the electronic scope 11 is connected to a stroboscopic light source 14 and the switch 22 is in the OFF state, a system controller 18 of the processor 12 turns off an electronic shutter function of an imaging element 15 of the electronic scope 11 as well as turns off a power supply of the light source unit 19.
