Cooling assembly for cooling a generator in a directly driven wind turbine and method of assembling a cooling system. The cooling assembly comprises a stator base part (1), a plurality of stator coil elements (3) of the generator being attached in operation to a surface of the stator base part (1). The cooling assembly further comprises a conduit assembly (2) having a plurality of conduits (6) for transporting a cooling fluid. The stator base part (1) has a cylinder shaped surface provided with a plurality of tangential grooves (5), wherein the plurality of conduits (6) are positioned in the plurality of tangential grooves (5) and the plurality of conduits (6) have been deformed from their original cross section (2r) during assembly. |
