PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift range detection device or the like which can exactly detect a neutral range of a gear change device in a shit-by-wire system.SOLUTION: A shift range detection device which detects a shift range of a gear change device constituting a state where power is transmitted from an input side by the engagement and release of friction engagement elements which are driven by hydraulic pressure, and a state where the power is not transmitted comprises: a hydraulic pressure supply passage which supplies hydraulic pressure to the friction engagement elements; and a hydraulic pressure detection device which detects the hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic pressure supply passage. The hydraulic pressure detection device detects whether or not the shift range of the gear change device indicates a neutral state of the gear change device on the basis of the detected hydraulic pressure. |
