PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively manufacture artificial feather that is used as a material constituting a shuttlecock used for badminton and has a physical property close to natural feather.SOLUTION: Artificial feather consists of: a vane; and a rachis formed by injection molding of a resin pellet with a thermally-expandable microcapsule mixed at a weight ratio of 1 to 10%, and the rachis consists of: a core having a foam structure; and a surface layer covering a side surface of the core. The artificial feather imitates feather of wild waterfowl, and includes the rachis consisting of: the surface layer having a hard external side; and the core having a soft inner side. |
