PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation device which has a function of giving a resistance force to operation and is capable of ensuring high safety in spite of runaway of a motor or the like for giving the resistance force.SOLUTION: An operation device includes: an operation member 10 which can receive operation in first and second operation directions from a neutral position; an operation transmission member 20 which interlocks with the operation member 10 and has first and second parts 25 and 26 to be restrained; first and second restraining members 30 and 40 which can be moved relative to the operation transmission member 20 in a movement direction of the operation transmission member 20 and restrain the first and second parts 25 and 26 to be restrained so that displacement relative to the first and second restraining members 30 and 40 in the movement direction of the operation transmission member 20, of the first and second parts 25 and 26 to be restrained is limited within a specific range; and a resistance force giving device 60 which gives a force to the restraining members 30 and 40 or an interlocking mechanism 50 so that resistance is given to operations in the first and second operation directions of the operation member 10.
