PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of reliably preventing degradation of starting performance when a vehicle is started after restart of an engine by executing an idling stop while running with improved appropriateness even for the vehicle which is not mounted with an electric oil pump.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device executes: an idling stop while running to stop an engine 1 while a vehicle is running when an idling stop condition while running is met; and a restart of the engine 1 when a first restart condition is met while executing the idling stop while running. Also, the vehicle control device: measures lapse time from a start of the idling stop while running with a timer T; determines that a second restart condition is met when a value of the timer T reaches threshold time TTH before the vehicle is stopped; and executes the restart of the engine 1 even though the first restart condition is not met (S44 to S46 and S48.) |
