PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly prevent air from being suctioned into a nozzle in a printer which conducts ink jet printing.SOLUTION: A printer 10 conducts ink jet printing and includes: an ink jet head 12 having a nozzle for discharging ink droplets and serving as an ink discharge part; an ink storage part 18 which stores an ink; and an ink supply passage 20 which supplies the ink from the ink storage part 18 to the ink jet head 12. The ink supply passage 20 includes a one way valve 206, which allows the ink to flow in one direction from the ink storage part 18 to the ink jet head 12, between the ink storage part 18 and the ink jet head 12.
