PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical writing device, image formation device, and temperature calculation method capable of accurately calculating temperature of a photodetector.SOLUTION: An optical writing device comprises: a plurality of light-emitting points; a photodiode for outputting a signal indicating an amount of incident light from a predetermined light-emitting point of the plurality of light-emitting points; and calculation means that calculates temperature of the photodiode on the basis of a magnitude of a photodiode dark current included in the signal output from the photodiode in a state that the predetermined light-emitting point is not lit.
