PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To view a program content retroactively from the beginning.SOLUTION: A video recording device comprises: storage means (2022) for storing user's preference information; identification means (2012) which identifies a preferred program content matching the preference information from program information for identifying a program content scheduled to be broadcasted; and control means (2013) which, at the time of the start of broadcasting of the preferred program content, determines whether there is a reception tuner for receiving the preferred program content, and when there is the reception tuner, receives the preferred program content by the reception tuner and records the content.
