PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of highly efficiently recovering steam discharged from a boiler or a turbine as drain.SOLUTION: An apparatus 1 for generating drain from steam and recovering the drain is provided. An interior of the apparatus 1 includes: a space; a steam intake port 2 arranged in the space; a drain discharge port 30 arranged in the space; zones 20, 21, and 25 provided by steam resistors 10 and 15; and an atmosphere opening port 40 arranged in the zone 25 farthest from the steam intake port 2. A steam channel 50 is provided in the steam resistors 10 and 15 so that steam intake quantities are larger than steam discharge quantities in the respective zones 20, 21, and 25.
