PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolymer that can exhibit at high level, performance such as water-reducing property and usability in cement composition or the like, that has simple molecular structure, and that is suitable for an industrial production.SOLUTION: There is provided a (poly)alkylene glycol-based block copolymer essentially has structure in which a polymer chain (A) composed of unsaturated carboxylic acid-based monomer units and a polymer chain (B) composed of (poly)alkylene glycol-based structure units are bonded via a binding site (X), and in which the (poly)alkylene glycol-based block copolymer has structure in which the polymer chain (A) and the polymer chain (B) are bonded via a binding site (X) in the order of the polymer chain (A and polymer chain (B), and the binding site (X) does not form an ester linkage with the terminal oxygen atom of polymer chain (B) and the binding site (X) includes a sulfur atom. |
