PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-phase rotary machine that is able to improve the boosting effect of the voltage of a battery 34.SOLUTION: A control section 40 performs a boosting process in which, while the neutral point N of a motor 20 and a battery 30 are connected, a switching element SY# is operated, thereby increasing the voltage of a capacitor 32 with respect to the voltage of the battery 34. Additionally, the control device 40 exerts start control in which while the voltage of the capacitor 32 is higher than the voltage of the battery 34 due to the boosting process, the switching element SY# is operated, thereby rotating and driving a rotor 22 and performing cranking. Here, a motor 20 is configured in such a manner that stator coils 26¥ are wound around teeth 30a to 30l composing the stator 24 so as to concentrate. The value obtained by dividing the number of slots 28a to 28l formed by teeth adjacent in a circumferential direction by the number of poles of the rotor 22 is set to 1.2. |
