<p>The system has a data collection unit (11) for collecting characteristic data or diagnosis information. An evaluation unit (12) evaluates a significant contextual parameter by either adequacy or inadequacy of measurement of a parameter of driving conditions by a measurement unit (7). A start/stop control unit (8) controls starting or stopping of the measurement unit based on the evaluation of the contextual parameter by either the adequacy or inadequacy of the parameter measurement of the driving conditions by the measurement unit. The evaluation unit is selected from a group consisting of a tachometer, an accelerometer, an inclinometer, a gyrometer, a force sensor and a temperature sensor such as ambient temperature sensor and bearing unit temperature sensor. An independent claim is also included for a method for implementing a diagnostic system.</p> |
