PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method of synchronization with an existing host ultrasonic apparatus in an add-on system for improving resolution of a system.SOLUTION: A method of synchronizing an add-on ultrasonic system with a host ultrasonic probe for ultrasonic image formation with a multiple aperture mode includes: a transmission step of transmitting an ultrasonic pulse from a host ultrasonic probe; a reception step of receiving the ultrasonic pulse by a reception probe of the add-on ultrasonic system; and a step of synchronizing the add-on ultrasonic system with the host ultrasonic probe by algorithm incorporated in a processor of the add-on ultrasonic system. The algorithm determines that a peak amplitude value changes from a low value to a high value or from the high value to the lower value (210) to obtain a frame start point of the transmitted ultrasonic pulse (212).
