PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion adsorption material which can adsorb an anionic compound and, further, a radioactive material adsorbed by anions, especially cesium, from a solid material such as soil.SOLUTION: Provided is an ion adsorption material formed by modifying a cotton-like material, a nonwoven fabric, fibers, a woven fabric, or a knitted fabric which contains cellulose fibers by a compound having a cationic functional group. The compound having a cationic functional group is an amine, a polyamine, a polyimine, a quaternary ammonium salt, or a polyquaternary ammonium salt. The ion adsorption material is produced by subjecting the cotton-like material, the nonwoven fabric, the fibers, the woven fabric, or the knitted fabric which contains cellulose fibers to: a refining step of treating with an aqueous surfactant solution; a positive charge treatment step of modification with a compound containing a cationic functional group; and a washing/drying step. |
