<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of preventing a vehicle from unexpectedly descending backward even during uphill traveling on a slope road.SOLUTION: A first estimated slope S1(n) and a second estimated slope S2(n) are calculated (S10, S12). When an estimated vehicle speed V(n) is not below a predetermined vehicle speed during an automatic engine stop mode, a determination is made as to whether the second estimated slope S2(n) is larger than a first threshold value or not (S14 to S18). Then, an engine is restarted when the second estimated slope S2(n) is larger than the first threshold value and a counter is larger than a determination time (S20 to S24).</p> |
