Provided are a joining method for a metal body and a joining structure for a metal body that have superior bonding strength. This joining method for a metal body has: a step for preparing a first member (1) to be joined that is a metal body and has a processed layer (11) in which a process that gives rise to atomic vacancies and/or displacement has been carried out; a step four supplying fine metal particles (3) between the processed layer (11) of the first member (1) to be joined and a second member (2) to be joined; and a step for joining the first member (1) to be joined and the second member (2) to be joined. This joining structure for a metal body has: the first member (1) to be joined that is formed from a metal and has at least one main surface the processed layer (11) having atomic vacancies and/or displacement; a sintered body of fine metal particles formed on the processed layer (11); and the second member (2) to be joined that is joined to the first member (1) to be joined via the sintered body of fine metal particles.
