<p>A technique is provided for detecting, by a base station (BS), a failure of an interface between the BS and a core network, sending a failure notification message to one or more mobile stations (MSs) indicating the failure of the BS-core network interface, selecting one or more of the MSs to be a cluster head, and broadcasting a cluster notification message to one or more MSs of the cluster, the cluster notification message identifying at least cell resources to be used by the cluster head to transmit reference signals for synchronization by other MSs within the cluster.</p> |
