METHOD FOR INTEGRATING INSULATION DATA INTO A SHIP MODEL

A method for integrating insulation data into the model of a ship prior to completion of the latter involves the creation of a database as a tool, said database being used to store all information on the basis of the steel used for the ship and the insulations used, particularly those for heat, sound and fire prevention insulations. The ship and the insulations are split into individual sections and the associated 3D files can be downloaded on board the ship, in each case using barcodes that are attached in each of the sections. This file also stores the material properties of the insulations, and the insulation database shows the insulation in the CAD program using a variable transparency.
