The present invention relates to a ship location control system using a portable terminal, which can instantly control the location of a ship at any area of the ship through a communications network, and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the ship location control system comprises a dynamic location control system; a communications network, which is connected to the dynamic location control system; and a portable terminal device. The dynamic location control system includes a measuring unit, which measures external environmental information applied to the ship and ship location information by being installed in the ship; a thrust unit, which controls the location of the ship; and a DP controller, which outputs a thrust control signal to the thrust unit based on the external environmental information and the ship location information measured by the measuring unit so that the ship can be located within the predetermined range. The portable device performs communications connection to the communications network and generates a thrust control signal to be provided to the thrust unit based on one of the external environmental information applied to the ship, which is provided from the dynamic location control system, the ship location information, the entrance-angle of the ship, and the amount of thrust output to the thrust unit. Then, the portable device transmits the thrust control signal to the dynamic location control system through the communications network. |
