PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool intake air sucked to an engine by utilizing acoustic energy in an intake passage without causing intake pressure loss.SOLUTION: A resonator 2 eliminating a specific frequency is disposed in an intake passage 1. An acoustic stack 5 is disposed inside of a communication pipe 4 of the resonator 2. The acoustic stack 5 absorbs heat at an intake passage 1 side by acoustic energy generated in the intake passage 1, and radiates heat at a volume chamber 3 side, to cool the intake air passing through the intake passage 1. Thus the intake air flowing in the intake passage 1 can be cooled without causing intake pressure loss. Further as the acoustic stack 5 is disposed in the communication pipe 4 of the resonator 2, the intake air flowing in the intake passage 1 is hardly disordered at a connectin part (branch portion ) of the communication pipe 4, and the intake pressure loss can be suppressed. Furthermore, as the inside of the communication pipe 4 is segmented by the acoustic stack 5, the inside of the communication pipe 4 is hardly affected by air viscosity, and frequencies around the resonance frequency of the resonator 2 can be widely eliminated. |
