The invention concerns a method of purifying a raw synthesis gas originating from the pyrolysis and/or gasification of a carbonized material charge by destruction of at least a portion of the tars contained in the gas, comprising the following steps: a/' introducing the raw gas into the sealed chamber, referred to as the calender, of a heat exchanger with pipes and a calender, and cooling it therein, so as to condense at least a portion of the tars contained in the gas on the inner surfaces of the calender; b/ recovering, at the outlet of the calender, the gas free of the portion of condensed tars; c/ stopping the introduction of raw gas according to step a/; d/ regenerating the inside of the calender, comprising at least one: dl/ combustion step in order to burn at least the portion of condensed tars present on the inner surfaces of the calender. |
