This invention relates to compositions of matter that keep dental mirrors free from moisture and water spray. Previously, compositions of matter in this field used hydrophilic compounds such as benzalkonium chloride, alkylated naphthaline sulfonic acids or alkylated phenol sulfonic acids. Embodiments of the present invention use an admixture comprising at least one terpene, at least one alcohol, at least one ester combined with at least one wax mixed with the admixture forming a semi-solid wax-admixture compound. The semi-solid wax-admixture compound is configured to be heated to a liquid wax-admixture compound and then cooled to a hard coating on the dental mirror.
