PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new type of heat storage material which meets the requirements necessary for the heat storage material.SOLUTION: A heat storage material of this invention comprises a substance that makes an electron phase transition, wherein the electron phase transition is a phase transition of multi-degrees of freedom containing the orbital degree of freedom or at least two degrees of freedom among the following three degrees of freedom: the electric charge-, spin- and orbital-degrees of freedom of the internal degrees of freedom that an electron has. The electron phase transition has a transition enthalpy of 5% or more in comparison with the transition enthalpy in the solid-liquid phase transition of HO. |
