<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which enables production of an acrylamide and/or acrylic acid polymer and treatment of a waste acrylonitrile-based polymer to be performed efficiently in a short period of time with a reduced environmental load, the acrylamide and/or acrylic acid polymer having heretofore been produced in the presence of a strong acid, a strong base, and an organic solvent under a condition of high temperature and high pressure.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an acrylamide and/or acrylic acid polymer by adding water to a supercritical fluid or a subcritical fluid containing carbon dioxide as a main component and heat-treating an acrylonitrile-based polymer. Water is added in an amount equal to or more than the nitrile groups of the acrylonitrile-based polymer, and the acrylonitrile-based polymer is treated at a temperature of 150 to 300°C under a pressure of 2 to 20 MPa for 60 minutes or less to produce an acrylamide and/or acrylic acid polymer.</p> |
