The activation device (1) is characterised in that the scroll face (6) and the enable key (8) are coupled via a disabling and enabling device in such a way that a shift selection of at least one of the driving positions can be carried out by means of the scroll face (6) after enabling by the disabling and enabling device on the basis of the enable signal.
