<p>The present invention relates to a method of joining hydroxyapatite to a metallic implant, characterised by the steps of: preparing hydroxyapatite, the metallic implant and a silver-based brazing alloy, wherein the metallic implant is made of titanium or titanium alloy; depositing the silver-based brazing alloy in between the metallic implant and the hydroxyapatite to form an assembly; brazing the assembly under a vacuum pressure by a heating cycle from room temperature to a brazing temperature in a range of 795-880°C; and cooling the brazed assembly to obtain a brazed joint of the hydroxyapatite and the metallic implant.
