PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel slide component and a novel slide component manufacturing method capable of ensuring excellent component strength and exhibiting excellent lubrication performance for a long period of time from initial time of sliding.SOLUTION: After striking particles 70 having a hardness equivalent to or higher than a surface hardness of a slide surface 10 of a slide component 100 against the slide surface 10 thereof to plastically deform the slide surface 10 and to form a plurality of minute concave portions 20, particles of a solid lubricant 30 are sprayed or applied onto this slide surface 10 to attach the particles onto the slide surface 10, and the slide surface 10 is smoothed by rolling compaction and pressurizing means. It is thereby possible to exhibit excellent lubrication performance for a long period of time from initial time of sliding without degrading component strength.
