PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 3-piece type disposable diaper that fits sufficiently in the buttock side of a wearer.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 has a lengthwise direction and a transverse direction crossing the lengthwise direction. A leg-surrounding elastic member 19 is disposed in the lengthwise direction on the outer side of the transverse direction from an absorbent core 11. A dorsal strip elastic member 35b crossing a part of the leg-surrounding elastic member is disposed in the transverse direction in a dorsal strip member 30b. A ventral strip elastic member 35a crossing a part of the leg-surrounding elastic member is disposed in the transverse direction in a ventral strip member 30a. The length in the lengthwise direction of the area where an extended portion of the leg-surrounding elastic member and the dorsal strip elastic member intersect each other is longer than the length in the lengthwise direction of the area where an extended portion of the leg-surrounding elastic member and the ventral strip elastic member intersect each other.
