<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber for an industrial robot which is capable of avoiding frequent error occurrence during teaching.SOLUTION: Besides an overload detection device 10 which, upon application of an overload due to shock, absorbs the shock and outputs an operation stop signal for a robot arm 1 at the same time, an auxiliary shock absorber 20 is disposed between the robot arm 1 and a machining head 2. The auxiliary shock absorber 20 includes an air damper 20A that absorbs the shock by releasing a rigid coupling between the robot arm 1 and the machining head 2 under a smaller overload than the overload under which the overload detection device 10 is operated.</p> |
