Provided are: a synthetic peptide having a nestin expression induction function for inducing the expression of nestin in astrocytes; a nestin expression inducing agent having said peptide as the active ingredient; and a production method for astrocyte-derived cells that highly express nestin, said method being characterized by providing said nestin expression inducing agent. The nestin expression inducing agent provided by the present invention includes, as the active ingredient, a synthetic polypeptide containing a nestin inducing peptide array comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID No. 1 or an amino acid sequence formed by the conservative substitution of one, two, or three amino acid residue(s) in the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID No. 1. Moreover, this production method for astrocyte-derived cells that highly express nestin includes the preparation of an astrocyte culture, and the supply, at least once, of the nestin expression inducing agent to the astrocyte culture. |
