RADIATION SOURCE, RANDOM LASER AND SCREEN

Proposed are a source of radiation, a random laser and a screen, comprising a semiconductor matrix with one or a plurality of inclusions (macro- or micro-inclusions) formed from a material (or materials), the electroluminescence of which (or of each of which) is excited when the energy of the charge carriers is less than the width of the forbidden energy gap of the matrix material. The device also comprises means for generating, in the matrix or in the matrix and in the inclusion(s), a constant, alternating, pulsed or other electric field with an intensity (intensity amplitude) E, where Ев<Е<Ем, Ем being the breakdown intensity of the matrix material, and Ев being the intensity required in order for a charge carrier to accumulate sufficient energy to excite luminescence in the material of the inclusion(s).
