PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of incinerating a burnable material containing a radioactive substance, capable of clarifying preferable upper limits to contents of basic oxide and neutral oxide at which the basic oxide and the neutral oxide are added to a silicon dioxide-based material when a burnable material (waste) containing a radioactive substance is burned in a combustion furnace so as to be able to suppress evaporation of the radioactive substance, suppress transformation of the radioactive substance to fly ashes, and transform the radioactive substance to main ashes.SOLUTION: In a method of incinerating a burnable material containing a radioactive substance in a combustion furnace 1 by adding a silicon dioxide-based material to the burnable material, a ratio of basic oxide contained in the silicon dioxide-based material to silicon dioxide is set not more than 10 mass%, and a ratio of neutral oxide contained in the silicon dioxide-based material to the silicon dioxide is set not more than 40 mass%. |
