PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a still image from a moving image to instantly obtain an image capable of being appreciated while reproducing motion of a subject.SOLUTION: An image generation device comprises: a main subject determination unit for determining a main subject from among persons included in a moving image composed of frames at a predetermined cycle; a duplication unit which selects, as selection frames, a plurality of images including the main subject in the frames at the predetermined cycle and generates a duplication image using the main subject's image part from each of the plurality of selection frames; and a combining unit for generating a combined image obtained by combining a plurality of generated duplication images. The duplication unit selects the selection frames after photographing of the moving image, in each predetermined period different from the predetermined cycle.
