<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which prevents reduction in image quality due to variability of heating performance in heating means of a fixing apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus includes: a platy heating element 23 having a plurality of heating areas R divided in a direction orthogonal to a recording material conveyance direction; and a heating control section 26 for controlling temperature of a fixing member for each of heating areas R of the platy heating element 23 independently. The fixing apparatus includes a heating performance information holding section 40 which holds heating performance of each of the heating areas R in the platy heating element 23 in advance. The heating control section 26 maintains heating temperature of a non-image area at a lower temperature than that of an image area, calculates a reference power value for each heating area, according to position information where an unfixed image is formed on a sheet P, and corrects the reference power value calculated for each heating area R, on the basis of information in the heating performance information holding section 40.</p> |
