<p>Disclosed is a metal wire for multi-filament cutting, with outer diameters of non-uniform distribution, the points of the largest outer diameter all making contact with an inner surface of a circular or nearly circular virtual channel, and the inner diameter of the virtual channel being consistent or evenly changing from front to back. The hardness of the surface of the metal wire is also of non-uniform distribution, and all the hardnesses on the points of the largest outer diameter of the metal wire are close to a local maximum value. When the metal wire is used for loose abrasive cutting, since the outer diameters of the metal wire are of non-uniform distribution, the abrasive carrying capacity is increased, which helps to improve cutting efficiency and cutting final yield, while since the hardness of the surface is also of non-uniform distribution, the wear-resistant capacity of the raised apex or near apex caused by the highest level hardness is high. The outer diameters of non-uniform distribution will not decrease due to the metal wire abrading during the cutting process, thus helping to maintain consistency in the final yield from the start of cutting to the tail end of cutting. Further disclosed is an apparatus for manufacturing the metal wire.</p> |
