The invention relates to a motor vehicle structure (102) comprising two longitudinal structural profiles (108b) extending towards the front of the vehicle with mounting plates (114) at the forward ends thereof; two deformable profiles (106) extending respectively in the forward continuation of the structural profiles (108b) and fixed to the mounting plates (114); and a transverse beam (104) fixed to the forward ends of the deformable profiles (106). The structure further comprises an arm (118) fixed to the power unit (120) and extending essentially transversely (or longitudinally) as far as the rear face of the mounting plate (114) of one of the two structural profiles (108b), so as to apply to said mounting plate (114) a longitudinal and/or transverse force able to encourage outward lateral deformation of the forward end (116b) of the structural profile (108b) in the event of an impact on the transverse beam (104).
