<p>The invention generally provides a system for use in a data communication network, through which a customer is able to order a desired quantity of a printed product from a merchant, the system comprising: 5 (a) a secure portal that is connected to, or which communicates with the data communications network, by which the customer is able to enter identifying information so as to gain access to a facility for ordering the desired quantity of the printed product; and where .0 (b) the facility for ordering the desired quantity of the printed product comprises: (1) a database that contains information associated with the customer; .s (2) one or more document templates (where each template comprises one or more data fields to be populated with data) for the generation of a printed product; (3) means to allow the customer, upon gaining access, to the system, to: (A) select a template for the generation of the printed product that the customer wishes to order; (B) populate at least one of the data fields associated with the selected template with data, to enable the generation of the printed product the customer wants; 25 (C) instruct the facility as to the quantity of the printed product that the customer wishes to order; and (D) order the facility to print the desired quantity of the printed product.</p> |
