PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for manufacturing a glass plate preventing cutting failure from being generated when cutting a sheet glass formed by a down-draw method.SOLUTION: When a sheet glass SG is cut, the sheet glass SG is adsorbed using an adsorption pad 420. An adsorption part 424 of the adsorption pad 420 for adsorbing the sheet glass SG comprises: a plurality of suction grooves 426 extended from an air suction port 427 provided in the center of the adsorption part 424; and a contact part 425 provided between the plurality of suction grooves 426 and contacted with the sheet glass SG.
