An image processing device comprising: a generation unit that generates a first display image based on image signals outputted from an imaging element that includes first and second pixel groups, at which a subject image passing through first and second regions of an imaging lens is pupil-divided and respectively formed, and generates a second display image from first and second images based on image signals outputted from the first and second pixel groups, the second display image being used for focus confirmation; a parallax calculation unit that calculates a parallax representing an offset amount between each pixel of the first image and each corresponding pixel of the second image; a display unit that displays images; and a display control unit that controls to display the first display image generated by the generation unit at the display unit and to display the second display image generated by the generation unit within a display region of the first display image, wherein the generation unit generates the second display image by arranging a first divided image, which is one of a plurality of divided images obtained by dividing the first image in a pre-specified division direction, and a second divided image, which is an image in which regions corresponding to the first divided image are excluded from a plurality of divided images obtained by dividing the second image in the same manner as the first image, to be shifted by an amount corresponding to the parallax in opposing directions in an intersectional direction that intersects with the division direction.
