<p>The present invention relates to a device and a method for driving a washing machine which can minimize energy consumption and obtain a mutually opposite-directional driving effect through dual-power driving, by setting, while a pulsator and a washing tub are rotated in one direction, the washing tub to a free-wheeling state or rotating the washing tub with inertial force through low-power driving, and by inversely rotating the pulsator. The present invention drives, when a pulsator and a washing tub are driven in a mutually opposite direction, an outer rotor and an inner rotor in a first direction for rotating the washing tub, rotates the washing tub by setting the inner rotor to any one among free-wheeling, intermittent driving, or low-power driving states, and inversely rotates the pulsator by driving the outer rotor in a direction opposite to the first direction.</p> |
