METHOD OF PRODUCING FIBROUS VANADIUM OXIDE AND FIBROUS VANADIUM OXIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a fibrous vanadium oxide which enables acquisition of a fibrous vanadium oxide having intended average fiber diameter and average fiber length with reduced residual carbon by a simple method and a fibrous vanadium oxide produced by the method of producing a fibrous vanadium oxide.SOLUTION: A method of producing a fibrous vanadium oxide includes a first step of irradiating a raw material solution containing raw material vanadium oxide and a water-containing solvent with a laser beam to prepare a dispersion of fine particles of vanadium oxide and a second step of aging the dispersion of fine particles of vanadium oxide. In the first step, a fluence per pulse of the laser beam 1 is set to be 50 mJ/cmor higher; the dispersion is aged in an oxygen-containing gas atmosphere for 1 h or longer; and the water-containing solvent has a ratio of water to the whole solvent of 50-100 wt.%.
