PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen excellent in visibility on either side of the screen to the opposite side.SOLUTION: A screen (10) is provided, for displaying image light projected from an image light source (2) to be visible for an observer; and the screen includes a light-transmitting sheet type base layer (14) and a light-scattering layer (15) that can scatter light and is formed on one surface of the base layer. The light-scattering layer includes: light-transmitting portions (16) arranged in parallel to one another on the base layer; and a light-scattering portion (17) that can scatter light and is formed between adjoining light-transmitting portions. The light-scattering portion contains an electrochromic substance that can be switched between a state of transmitting light and a state of scattering and reflecting light in accordance with changes in an applied voltage. The screen further includes an electrode (30) that can apply a voltage to the electrochromic substance.
