<p> In a conventional electronic control device, voltage detection is carried out at single voltage determination threshold value, and a resultant problem was that it was only possible to either detect an open fault of an inductive load or a low-voltage malfunction of the clamp voltage due to a short-circuit fault in a clamping means, or detect an overvoltage fault of the clamp voltage fault due to an open fault of a zener diode inside the clamping means. To solve this problem, the present invention proposes an electrical control device provided with a voltage detection means for carrying out voltage detection by at least two voltage determination threshold values, and a voltage determination threshold value generating unit which can modify the voltage determination threshold values, depending on the clamp voltage setting. According to the present invention, by respective comparison of the at least two voltage determination threshold values and the clamp voltage which has been divided by a voltage dividing means, a greater variety of faults, such as low-voltage malfunction or overvoltage malfunction of the clamp voltage, can be detected, as compared a conventional electronic control device. Further, because the voltage determination threshold values of the voltage detection means can be modified depending on the clamp voltage, it is possible to diagnose the clamp voltage in accordance with the set value of the clamp voltage.</p> |
