PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine capable of acquiring a sufficient beat-washing effect of laundry and capable of performing washing and rinsing with good efficiency.SOLUTION: A drum type washing machine includes: a bottomed cylindrical water tub which is elastically supported so that a central axis is located on a position on an axis line descending backward, and in which the back surface side is blocked; a bottomed cylindrical drum which is provided in the water tub in a manner rotatable around the axis line, and in which the back surface side is blocked; a washing machine motor which is provided outside of the water tub and which drives the drum; a water discharge mechanism part which sprays water inside the drum; a drain outlet part which is formed at a bottom part on the back surface side of the water tub; a circulation path which is formed so as to connect the drain outlet part and the water discharge mechanism part; and a circulation pump which discharges the water taken from the drain outlet part toward the drum from the water discharge mechanism part. The water discharge mechanism part has a water passage formed of an inner wall of the water tub and a blocking plate mounted to the water tub.
