<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus using an air-separation system, configured to prevent image noise regardless of rigidity of a sheet, and an image forming apparatus using the fixing apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus 1 having a fixing member and a pressure member includes: a separation pawl 8 which separates a recording medium passing through a nip part 17 from a pressure member; a nozzle 7 for jetting air between the recording medium passing through the nip part 17 and the fixing member; a guide plate 9 for supporting the recording medium passing through the nip part 17; and a detection sensor 10 which detects a contact state of the recording medium with the separation pawl 8 or the guide plate 9. When an output of the detection sensor 10 exceeds a threshold, a control unit 11 performs control so as to reduce pressing force of the recording medium toward the separation pawl 8.</p> |
