<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical pencil capable of assuring the smoother action of a rotary drive mechanism for rotating a writing lead in response to a writing pressure accompanying a writing.SOLUTION: A mechanical pencil comprises a rotary drive mechanism 21 for rotation-driving a rotary cam 23 on the basis of a writing pressure received by a writing lead, and is constructed to transmit the rotational motion of the rotary cam 23 to the writing lead. The rotary drive mechanism 21 includes: a holder member 22 for supporting the rotary cam 23 rotatably and axially movably; and a slide member 24 and a cushion spring 25 mounted on the holder member 22 for biasing the rotary cam axially forward. The slide member 24 is formed with a concave guide part 24b at a position confronting a columnar body 22e formed in the holder member 22, and the guide part 24b of the slide member 24, which retracts in response to the writing pressure, and moves along the longitudinal direction of the columnar body 22e.</p> |
