PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which can easily identify a position of the tip end of a needle inside a subject by sight, in needling under ultrasonic guide.SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes: a sending unit which sends ultrasonic waves including a frequency resonating with a puncture needle to a subject via an ultrasonic wave probe; a reception unit which receives the ultrasonic waves including guide waves caused by the resonance from the inside of the body of the subject and generates echo signals on the basis of the received ultrasonic waves; a signal processing unit which extracts the guide wave signals from the echo signals; an image generation unit which generates a first image regarding the puncture needle on the basis of the guide wave signals.
