<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method that can decompose ethanolamine efficiently wherein the decrease in the nitrification activity in the nitrification process of the latter part of a hydrazine decomposition process is controlled in a wastewater containing ethanolamine and hydrazine. <P>SOLUTION: The treatment method includes: a hydrazine decomposition process to decompose hydrazine in a wastewater containing the ethanolamine and hydrazine by using at least one catalyst selected from activated carbon and a manganese compound and oxidant under a condition where copper does not exist substantially; and a biological treatment process in which a decomposition liquid generated in the hydrazine decomposition process is brought into contact with an aerobic microorganism to decompose remaining ethanolamine, and further ammonia caused by the decomposition of the ethanolamine is changed into a nitrite ion or a nitrate ion, and is brought into contact with a denitrifying bacteria to change the nitrite ion or the nitrate ion into a nitrogen gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
