<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance interest by enabling a shade of meaning in a performance symbol to differ according to a change in a game state. <P>SOLUTION: Even if the same prize is won, a symbol combination indicating winning of the prize type is also changed according to a change in a game state. For example, when a jackpot D is won during a non-variation-time-reduced state, a symbol combination, such as [101], including a third chance symbol in the middle row is displayed. Meanwhile, when the jackpot D is won during a variation-time-reduced state, a symbol combination, such as [333], where symbols in all the rows become the same symbol is displayed.
